![]() I don't think that's an issue with pretty much anyone else here. The biggest leap for me was making my primary music machine a PC for the first time. 246 Video 247 Virtual Instruments and ReWire 248 Exporting your work 248 Nuendo vs Cubase SX 249 Tutorial 249 Getting started 250 Setting up 251 Setting. I think if there were a MAC OS version of Sonar it would quickly put a serious dent in the Logic user base. If that's the case there should be no reason for me to use anything else.īottom line: you gotta use what works best for you - for me personally I have found the best fit in Sonar after years of Vision, Studio Vision Pro, Cubase, Logic and Pro-Tools. ![]() I believe Sonar reads/writes OMF files (but I have not done either yet). I'm lucky that my work for clients (such as they are) is all based on delivery of final music, and/or me engineering/producing sessions personally - so I found the need for Pro-Tools not what it once was prior to new faster CPU's that offer as much flexibility as the TDM modules. normally it turns out that nuendo users use at least at entry level rme and uad/powercore dsp cards with decent mic preamps and mics, while cubase users use anything from onboard to soundblasters on not -appropiate computers and a shitload of cracked programms and badly coded freeware, with crappy behringer stuff and budget mics. I like simple but powerful, and that's what makes Sonar so great, for me. It seemed just a little less stressful than Logic in it's complexity. So if you absolutely need the latest music/Cubase features right away and cant wait like 4-5 months or whatever it is then Cubase is for you. There a couple things I'm figuring out, but Sonar is nowhere the headache that Logic and Pro-Tools were. One difference though is that Cubase gets released a bit sooner than Nuendo traditionally, for good reason. ![]() The set-up and work flow is pretty straight ahead. ![]() My former studio partner has been using Nuendo for about five years, he's switching to Sonar and encouraged me to do so.
